GAP & YOU

GAP NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

America's prisons are strongholds of Satan. As one of our brothers behind bars put it, "Prisons are Satan's playpens." Lives there continue to be touched and shaped by sin, hatred, and ignorance--even within the body of Christ! While there are many spiritually mature believers in prison, many more have yet to be discipled and lack spiritual maturity. More can and must be done to bring these brothers and sisters in Christ into a right relationship with the mainstream church.

Presently, we have established prison ministries in churches in several states, but we continue to look for opportunities to expand. There is great need for biblical training in prisons, so we have developed a scholarship program which offers imprisoned Christian men and women opportunities to take formal biblical courses. We are also looking for ways to help Christian believers integrate back into society upon release.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

  • Ask your pastor about starting a GAP Prison Ministry in your church.

  • Ask if your church would support the ministry financially.

  • You can join with GAP by standing with us in prayer.

  • You can also help by supporting GAP financially.

  • We are in great need of partners. Will you please join with us?

"I have seen the tremendous positive impact that prison ministries like GAP have on offenders. Faith-based programs create hope in lives that had seemed pretty hopeless. Offender responsibility and accountability are emphasized and positive community connections established. There is evidence that recidivism is impacted as well, with participants becoming law-abiding, contributing members of society after release--increasing public safety and curtailing costs to the taxpayer."

--Shervl Ramstad Hvass,
Former Minnesota Commissioner of Corrections
